Mario Kart VR! Why does Japan get all of the Cool Stuff?


Are you guys ready for a new version of Mario Kart like no other? Bandai Namco recently announced a VR version of the beloved Nintendo classic coming to their arcades in Shinjuku, a popular destination in Tokyo, Japan.

Mario Kart VR is going to run off of a HTC Vive headset. Users will sit in a seat with a the Vive headset on, wrist straps on, and a stirring wheel in front of them. Users will control their the car with the stirring wheel, like normal, but in order for them to use their special ability they need to throw it in front of them. With sensors surrounding the user, the sensors will pick up if the user moves their arm thanks to the wristbands.

This game will join the library of games at the Shinjuku VR Zone in Tokyo Japan. To learn more about the VR Zone watch the video above.
