Virgin Mobile, the First iPhone Only Mobile Carrier in the US

Virgin Mobile just announced something interesting and it could lead to more customers.

Virgin Mobile decided to make a big move and to stop selling Android phones, becoming the first iPhone only mobile carrier in the US. With the announcement of becoming a iPhone only carrier, they also announced a promotional plan called the "Inner Circle" which gives customers service for a year for $1 and some, interesting, extra perks.

The Inner Circle offers unlimited talk, text and data, with limitations. Video will be throttled at 480p, music will stream at 500 kbps, and a data cap at 23 GB. Perk wise, you can get a companion ticket on a Virgin Atlantic flight to the UK, a two-night stay at a Virgin Hotel, and Discount Virgin Wine.

After a year, you'll have to pay $50 a month with auto pay. After you kept the phone for two years and get another iPhone, the plan goes back to $1 for six months. From an agreement by Apple and Virgin, you can get the phone by either Apple or Virgin Mobile.

Virgin currently offers:

  • iPhone 7/7 Plus
  • iPhone 6S/6S Plus
  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone SE
