Alibaba Announced Echo like Smartspeaker

Alibaba has been Amazon's competitor with online shopping in Asia but know, Alibaba stepped up it's game by entering the smartspeaker competition. The Tmall Genie is device that has Alibaba's AliGenie, the company's voice assistant. So what can the Tmall Genie do so it can compete with other smartspeakers?

Actually, Alibaba didn't add anything, it functions exactly like the Amazon Echo. You can ask it questions, controle smarthome devices, and order from Tmall, Alibaba's shopping site. So why do you need this device? Actually it's to replace the Amazon Echo in China, where Alibaba plans to sell the device.

Amazon doesn't exist in China, the Amazon Echo is not available in the country. AliGenie is similar to the Amazon Echo, in many ways, but I don't think it's going to be a competitor at all.
