Brandless Brings a new Take on Online Grocery Shopping

Grocery stores and online shipping companies, like Amazon, have tried online grocery shopping but with mild success. With multiple issues that’s setting these companies back in entering into this new method of grocery shopping, one of the main reasons is the price of what they are selling. A new company called Brandless just entered the game, should other companies should watchout?

The main selling point to Brandless is that the price of everything that they sell doesn’t exceed $3.00. How do they do that? Well, instead of sending a source of a product, like oats for oatmeal, to a brand and then selling in multiple stores across the country, Brandless skips all of that and sells them straight to you from their website (tax-free), meaning less money for them to spend on marketing and more money that you save.

Can Brandless compete with Amazon and other companies to be the top online grocery chain? No, right now they only offer organic perishables and not meats, dairy, and frozen food. Amazon also has a Prime, their yearly subscription service that let customers receive perks like free two-day shipping and other things. Amazon customers also have the ability to have something automatically resent to you over a period of time.
