Language Learning apps That Could Help you Learn a Language Today

Did you know that learning a language can help improve your memory, attention span, and it could help you find jobs in countries that speak it. So do you wanna learn a language but don't know where to start? Take a look at these apps.

1. Memrise

Out of all of the apps I tested, Memrise is probably the best with the amount of languages it contains and lessons for each language. It includes languages that use the Roman alphabet (ABC) and other characters like Japanese or Korean. There's also a monthly subscription service that can unlock features like the ability to hear the words that you hear spoken by a native person and more. Memrise is available in both the App Store and Google Play for free.

2. Duolingo

Duolingo is the most well-known language learning app out there. For English speakers, Duolingo doesn't offer much, it has languages that use the Roman alphabet and recently added their first special character language for English learners, Japanese. But what I like about Duolingo is the motivation it has, they offer something called clubs that you can join. You can pass other members by collecting points because Duolingo is also gamified. If you keep doing a lesson everyday you earn "lingots" to buy special abilities and clothes for your owl. Duolingo is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.

3. HelloTalk

HelloTalk offers a different approach to language learning. It's like a social media platform for language learners to connect to other people from that country and chat with them. It's also a safe for all ages, if a user sees something inappropriate, they report it and HelloTalk steps in and takes action. HelloTalk is available on the App Store and Google Play for free.

4. HiNative

HiNative also takes a different approach to language learning. Their platform is like Reddit, users ask a question like "How do you say..." and other users comment. With my experience, it's useful for learners because when they post their question other users respond fast. HiNative is available on the App Store and Google Play for free.
