5 Amazon Echo tips and tricks

With the Amazon Echo, you can already listen to Amazon Prime Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, TuneIn Radio and Audible. Also, Alexa can read you a book from your kindle library.

But if you use Apple Music and Google Play Music as your primary music streaming service or have music downloaded your phone you can connect your phone to the Echo, Tap or Dot through bluetooth. To get started, all thought you have to say is "Alexa, pair my device", go on your device and find the echo on your bluetooth menu.

2. Add unsupported smarthome devices

If you have a smarthome device and it's not supported for the Amazon Echo, through the IFTTT service, most of your smarthome devices might be supported.

What you need to do first is to see your device has a skill that you need to enable before you see if your device is supported through IFTTT. If there's not skill then make a recipe thourgh IFTTT with the Amazon Alexa channel and the smart device channel.

3. Enable Alexa Skills

Alexa Skills are like apps for the Echo, Dot or Tap. To enable them go to the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone, slide out the menu, tap skills. The skills section of the app is basically an app store for your Alexa device. All that you have to do is just tap the skill that you want and enable it.

A two of the most popular skills on Alexa are Domino's and Uber. With Domino's you can order your easy order and track an order. With uber you can order and uber to your location and track the car to see if it's close.
