Review: Nintendo NES Classic Edition

Nintendo did something really, really cool. The released a new version of their NES, or Nintendo Entertainment System, that is really small but have a library of games pre-installed on the device.

When you first open the box you see the small device, this tiny box fits perfectly in your hand. If you do a size comparison with the original NES you can see how significantly small it is. Next in the box is the controller. What's cool about the controller is the Nintendo made sure to not change a thing about the controller in design, it looks exactly like the one that use to come with original. The connection that the new NES controllers use are the same as the Wii remotes where you plug in a pro controller so you can use those controllers on the NES or you can use the new NES controllers with the Wii. A down side to the new NES controllers is that the cord is only 3ft long, people are making wireless version of the controller or extensions so you're able to play the console at more of a distance. The box only includes one so if you want another controller you can buy one for $10.

Once you plug in the console you will find a library of games that are pre-installed on to the mini console. The library that's installed on to the box is the best on Nintendo in one tiny box, it includes Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby, and more. The coolest part is that you can choose how the game is projected on the TV. You can choose from three settings, pixel perfect, 4:3, or CRT filter(this filter will put lines across the screen like the TVs in the 80's).

The downside to this console is that you can't use the old cartridges that the original NES used, so if you still have a library of games then I would recommend to get something else to play these games. If you would like to pick on up it costs $60 dollars to pick it up. If you get one let me know if you're Playing with Power!
