Lenovo Teases Future MotoMods for it's Moto Z Phones

Lenovo recently teases a few ideas for future MotoMods. John Touvannas, senior director of product management at the Lenovo owned company, recently spoke at press event about the future of MotoMods, one of them being a 5G module.

The other mod that John was talking about is a E-Ink display but I'm going to talk about a different mod that he didn't talk about. Rumors have been going around in the tech world saying that Lenovo will likely build a Project Tengo module so you don't have to buy the expensive and heavy Lenovo Phab 2 Pro.

One of the interesting modules that Touvannas was talking about was a 5G enable module for the phone. The reason why this module was the most interesting of the two is that you don't have to wait to get a new phone in order use 5G connection. If Motorola does release this mod when we have 5G speeds I personally think that it would be their best seller.

Do you guys remember the YotaFone? With the E-Ink display on the back and a normal display on the front? Well, Motorola might bring that concept to the Moto Z line with a mod that has an E-Ink display. I can see this being useful for someone who wants to save on battery life and to add a picture to the back to add another way to customize the device.

Motorola is promising to release more mods in 2017 then 2016 so we will have to wait and see what they release. Motorola also released two new mods in time for the holiday, Mophie PowerMod and a Incipio Car Dock but you can read about those here.
