#Bixby Might be Joining the Smart Speaker Competition
For those who don't know what Bixby is, it's Samsung's assistant to take on Google's Assistant and Apple's Siri.
There have been reports that Samsung is developing a Bixby powered speaker to take on Amazon's Echo, Google's Home and Apple's Homepod. This shouldn't be any surprise to us because when the Korean tech giant announced Bixby, they were talking about putting it in smarthome products like the FamilyHub refrigerator, TV's, and (of course) a smart speaker.
Before Samsung starts working on a smart speaker, they should really work on getting Bixby pushed out to more consumer markets, like the US for example. Samsung delayed the release of the English version of the assistant until July of 2017 (when a preview version was released) because of the lack of data for the English language, let me remind you the Bixby's first language was Korean and released in South Korea a few weeks after the launch of the Galaxy S8.
We are hoping that Samsung works on the language issue before the start developing a Amazon Echo competitor.
