Review of the Sony Xperia XA1

The Japanese tech giant, Sony, is known in the US as the high end camera/headphone manufacturer and the creation of the Playstation, but did you know that they also manufacturer smartphones? The Sony Xperia line has different phones for different people and different prices. The Sony Xperia XA1 is one of Sony’s mid-range devices and for its $299.99 price point, it’s kinda good.

The XA1 has a not-so-good display, 5in 720p HD display, but to make up for it, Sony added Image Enhance Technology. The battery is not big either, it has 2300mAh battery but when the phone is running low, charging it should be a breeze since it’s quick charge compatible. Being Sony, the XA1 has an excellent camera and sound. The main camera has a 23MP camera and the front is an 8MP camera with Sony’s Exmor RS Sensor. For audio, you have a front facing speaker at the bottom of the face of the display with xLOUD technology. For a processor, the XA1 has a Mediatek MT6757 64 bit Octa Core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and expandable memory up to 256 GB.

Compared to other mid-ranged devices, the XA1 is behind if you compared it to something else with the same price, you would get a fingerprint scanner, bigger battery, and bigger display, but if you do go with something else, you’ll miss out on a phone with a great camera and sound.
